Is it legal to advertise cheaper alcohol during happy hour? For example on an ‘A’ board outside a pub?

In England each pub runs it’s own business and can sell what alcohol it likes at any price it likes. The A board will be subject to local bye laws and my differ from local authority to local authority.
I think the attempts to limit increase the price of things is a bit of a joke and an example of a government not thinking things through again. I for one am tired of knee jerk laws which are little more than an attempt to satisfy a self righteous group of people. I’m not referring just to this there are plenty of other examples of silly laws being passed in a hurry to show the government is up to speed when obviously it is not

There is no law about it. For pricing, the law dicates that a tariff of pricing and measures should be displayed, outside of that there is nothing.
As for an A board in the street, this is a local authority issue, much like any business.

Nothing illegal about this, unless the local authority hav bye laws about A boards on the street.
The new laws coming out on 1st Sept 2009 mean you cant have a happy hour. All special offers like this must start at 10 am and run for 72 hours consecutively.
