Question: Any book recommendations for humorous fiction a la Janet Evanovich?

I would love to read something funny along the lines of her Stephanie Plum series. Harlan Coben’s Myron Bolitar series is another favorite. Doesn’t have to be mystery, though. Could be general fiction.

You might look at her pre-Plum stories. They are being re-released.Some of them are very funny. You might also try Elizabeth Peters. She writes good books also.

I like books with a sense of humor. Here are a couple of my favorite wacky authors:

Mary Janice Davidson: She does a vampire series and a mermaid series, both ridiculous. She’ll make you laugh out loud in a plane full of people.

Carl Hiaason: A Florida favorite and legally certifiable, his books are very character driven and the characters are usually nuts. Usually mysteries with an environmental flavor to them, and a number of re-accuring characters keep it all familiar.

Christopher Moore: Carl Hiaason on crack. This guy is truly nuts, but brilliant too. His book titles alone should make you giggle. He’s all over the map. A little mystery, and little suspense, a lot of craziness. Very very character driven. And many of the characters will show up in other books (although he doesn’t have any actually series out there).
