Anyone Know Any Good Humorous Story Songs? (something Like Johnny Cash’s Song “a Boy Named Sue”)?
I know a ton of those.
Ray Stevens (has many) – Shriner’s Convention
C.W. McCall (has a ton of them also) – Classified
Larry Groce – Junk Food Junkie
Kip Addotta – Wet Dream
J. Geils Band – No Anchovies Please
Call up Ray Stevens and C.W. Mc Call individually for a ton more.

Hmmm….
“Wildwood Weed” by Jim Stafford
“My Ding-A-Ling” by Chuck Berry
“Cover of the Rollling Stone” by Dr. Hook
“Spiders & Snakes” by Jim Stafford
“Roller Derby Queen” by Jim Croce
“Uneasy RIder” by Charlie Daniels Band
“My Girl Bill” by Jim Stafford
Didja see that Jim Stafford had 3 top 40 hits in the 70′s and all of them were “humorous”? !!!
The Eagles – Hotel California
If you speak Spanish – Hijo de la luna (Mecano)
I hope that’s what you are looking for…
He did another song about stealing the all the pieces of a Cadillac from the plant …”I got it one piece at a time and it didn’t cost me a dime”….I can’t remember the title but, he steals the pieces and builds the car over time. Also, Cocaine Blues is a good one by Johnny Cash.
Hot Rod Linclon too.
have you heard of the band Primus? most of their songs are based on humorous random stories and what not.
Ray Stevens’ “The Streak,” about the streaking (running naked) fad of the 70s. “Don’t look Ethel!” Dick Feller’s “The Sixty Dollar Duck.” “Bar Wars” by Freddy Weller. “Marie Laveau” by Bobby Bare.
NWA………A ***** is a *****
haha………..its hilarious(and true)
There’s a whole littany of incredible story songs that originate from the original folk ballads in any variety of cultures. There are tons of great American comedic songs and I think the best place a great place to start is Arlo Guthrie. His “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree” is an absolute CLASSIC and clocks in at about SEVENTEEN minutes! Here’s a recent live version that’s a little hard to hear, but it’s available elsewhere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_7C0QGki…
While the song does have a political message behind it, it’s still absolutely hilarious. Guthrie has written a lot of songs in this style and another good track is ‘Motorcycle’. Good luck!
it doesn’t sound like a story but
Polythene Pam-The Beatles
“hotrod lincoln”…..you’ll thank me
If u want humour, check out Weird Al Yankovic’s songs.
