Question: Do you know a hilarious play, or scene/monologue that I could use for a drama piece?

I’m in a debate and drama class, and I need a hilarious monologue, or scene from a play that could help me woe the judges. It can be for one or more people to do. I’m open for any play idea, but preferably one that will make the judges laugh. Thanks!

No, but I would reccomend using a Shakespear comedy and changing the script a little.

Little shop of horrors, also bus stop is a good one!

Bus Stop is not a monologue, its a drama game.

And there is a great scene from Harold and Maude,
where the mother is filling out an online dating service form, for her son.

Try something from Monty Python. They have some real funny movies out.I always liked the scene when it sounds like someone on horseback coming from afar and when they show up they are banging coconuts together. There are so many.

Check out the stage play Urinetown. The entire play is based on a very serious subject and is both a tear jerker and a laugh a minute riot.

These are comedic female monologues. My favorite is the first “Charge” one by Eric Kaiser. Near the top. Good luck!

John Leguizamo’s “Freak” often won first place in the speech/debate competitions I judged when I was a coach.
