I know there are the really silly ones out there, but I’m asking about ones you’ve seen people suggest seriously (or at least as really subtle trolls). Just curious.

Someone asked what we thought of the name Continence once.

Definitions of continence on the Web:

* the exercise of self constraint in sexual matters
* voluntary control over urinary and fecal discharge

I hope they picked something else for the poor kid…..

Oh gosh, this lady was serious, she wanted to name her daughter Pashmere. Her question was put like this ” What do you think of Pashmere?” I thought she made a simple spelling error and meant to say Papsmere. I almost died when she stated thats what she is naming her poor daughter. Oh my gosh.

Well, I think perhaps some people forget to make allowances for cultural differences. Some Indian names, for example, can seem quite strange to some Western people.

The names that really annoy me are ones I would characterise as being popular with very low-class people. What annoys me even more is when heaps of people chime in and say what a beautiful name it is. Yuk!
