Question: What is a humorous declamation speech?

I am a freshman in high school who has to give a declamation speech infront of morning meeting for public speaking class. It should be a humorous one. I can memorize a speech, a monologue, a soliloquy, a poem, a short narrative, an excerpt from a drama, ect. Does anybody know of some good, funny ones? I can’t find any.

Go to the library and get Mark Twains “Letters from the Earth.” It has a number of very wry speeches in it.

Try the nonfiction of H.L. Mencken or E.B. White.

Tom Wolfe has a few nonfiction books out. It’s dated, but try “Radical Chic or Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers.” It’s very funny. It makes fun of 60s “radicals” and their hypocrisy.
