Question: Why are fart sounds humorous when they happen in real life, but often cheesy when used as humor on TV/film?

Actually, that is just a subjective opinion.

But any thoughts on that?

Because when they are used in tv or films, they are used to try and be humourous. whereas in real life they are just natural and therefore will be found more humourous. =]
