Q&A: Why is Grand Theft Auto so “bad” compared to other games with content much worse but more comical?

In Pacman for example, not only do you kill the ghosts you EAT THEM

In Galaxian you blow up invading aliens with a gun out of the top of a rocket

In Dig Dug you inflate monsters until they explode or drop rocks on them

There was never any concern whether these games would cause children to do horrible things but with grand theft auto, you kill people and steal cars, you don’t eat them or inflate them until they pop, there is so much controversy that children will grow up to be gang members and murderers.

UMM LETS SEE, maybe because your human in GTA and you are blowing brains out, you are cussing up a storm, having sex with hookers in the back of your car, going and getting lap dances in strip clubs, and sniping peoples heads. Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

Umm gta is much more graphic hun. Then again if parents BIIIITCH so much about the video game then don’t fuccckkking buy it simple as that.

It’s mainly because with Pac-Man, Galaxian, Dig Dug and similar games, those creatures you’re killing are fantasy types that don’t even remotely look human.. That’s not the case in games like GTA IV.. The characters you shoot, stab, beat and run over are much more like people you see on the streets every day and some experts would like you to believe that, in a way, will desensitize the average gamer to violence on each other..

I personally believe there is no merit in such a statement, as most normal people, regardless of their age, can still differentiate between fantasy violence and reality, regardless of how life-like the characters are or will soon become.. That, my friend, is what we have in store for us in gaming.. I don’t know if it’ll make it with XB360/PS3 or if we have to wait for whatever comes next in the 8th or even 9th Generation Of Gaming, but it will happen..
