Hi,I did the following:
Q&A: Christmas is the most sefish, and biggest joke of a holiday in the world?
Don’t get me wrong. I love Christmas. I love Christmas eve, spending time with my family, drinking coffee, listening to music, sharing stories, watching tv, maybe a game of football, and treasuring the time we have with each other with no worries like health, money, problems, etc.
I love Christmas morning, seeing my family’s faces when they get something they totally weren’t expected.
What I don’t like….is “CHRISTMAS”
All kids in this generation just want gifts…dont care when, dont care how. They just want presents. Christmas is not, and was never meant to be about gifts. The kids want ipod touches, uggs, cell phones, cameras, xbox 360s, ps3s. Thats all they care about. We mind as well just call it…”Gimme my damn presents” day.
Its disgusting.
“Christmas” – is a joke.

Come now, not all are like that. I love the snow and the warmth of my loved ones.
Answer by Karen
by all means, it is
however, it is not our greed that makes it lame
i think that wath ur saying is that we are supposed to be celebrating the birth of Jesus and all that
but the reason why christmas is really a joke is because christmas is actually a pagan holiday meant to celebrate the birth of the sun God.
ur concept is right but ur theory is faulty

Is this a question? Are you asking me if agree or disagree? If so, I agree that Christmas has become very commercialized over the past years. Kids these days only expect to receive gifts during the holidays. I also believe that there are some children out there that don’t even know the true meaning of Christmas and have never heard the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Yes it’s dumb! We should all feel like this everyday! All happy and what not..
O-o
I doubt you would want an answer, but to add upon your rant:
Christmas is not a holiday anymore, it is a media proclaimation to scam all of suburbia into spending their well earned paychecks. The true holiday was gone long ago, when this “gift giving” started to take place. After that started, the children rose up and started to scream “Me, me, more presents for me!” Perhaps you shouldn’t see this time as a “Christmas” day but simply, a “holiday” being observed, whatever you choose that to be.
Well that means your celebrating it wrong.
“Christmas” Is about the birth of Christ. Not about the presents. So “christmas” is not a joke. because it is a very important time to spend with your family and giving.
I totally agree with you. I walk into school and all these brats are talking about is:
“OMG (snaps gum) I’m totally getting an Ipod Touch.”
“If my mom doesn’t buy me uggs I’m gonna kill someone!”
“I want a PS3 and a cell phone and a Ipod and money and…”
God it’s like STFU…
I agree soooo much. You can tell that it’s “gimme my damn presents” day because people who aren’t even Christian celebrate it- and if you’re not celebrating the birth of Jesus then you’re obviously celebrating the presents.
I agree. A gift should be a gift in any case regardless of the holiday or whatever. When someone demands something it is no longer a gift. I don’t cooperate with demands and that is the end of the gift-giving when whatever I give is not appreciated. These days I am more apt to give something the way Jesus asked us to do, feed the hungry, clothe the naked or heal the sick. Those are the most important gifts, not luxuries, status symbols or electronics and other things people can live without.
Seems like people are idolizing Santa Claus instead of celebrating the birth of the Messiah.
I agree with you, but at the same time I don’t. It’s up to the parents and family to teach children the real meaning of Christmas. It’s not about Santa Claus at all. So if you have reared the children in your family to only know Christmas as “Gimme my damn presents day” then that is all they are going to know.
My little sisters friend was over today and kept saying things like “If my mom doesn’t get my an Ipod I’m gonna be so mad!” When I asked her what she would do if it wasn’t an Ipod she said “Throw the present at my mom.”
ACTUALLY, i think it’s how your kids are raised reflects on how they act on Christmas, we never act like that on Christmas
