Question: I’m kind of weird when it comes to shoping for clothes…or anything really…?

When ever I go shopping in my favorite store (Hot Topic) with my mom, I get really excited. This last time I went, there were a lot of clothes that I wanted. I tried on a few things and didn’t really love any of them so I got the two cheapest tank tops that looked good on me. I was happy for a while until I got home and tried them on. When I tried them on in my room, I still liked them and I knew I would wear them but I felt as though I don’t really need them. I almost felt as though I could live without them and maybe I should take them back and get something I like more. I don’t want to make my mom do this because I do it often enough for it to be annoying. I think i do this when I regret making mom spend so much money on something that i don’t really need. I think the only reason I got the shirts was because I haven’t gotten any new clothes in a while….should I take them back? They were a piece and my mom didn’t have a problem with buying them because she hasn’t bought me anything in a while. I remember being a kid and my mom bought me a toy that was maybe and I played with it for a few hours and then I kinda didn’t want it anymore so I wanted her to take it back. I’ve done this for years now. Is it a guilty conscience or what??

That’s so sweet of you! I think it’s so cute how you feel bad for your mom and all, but seriously, if she didn’t mind, why not just keep the shirts? If you really like them and all, and you still feel bad, just let her know that you appreciate her buying them by showing them off and telling her how much you love them -and her-.
But, if you still feel bad and all, just wait until next time you go shopping to take them back so you don’t annoy her.

woah..thats weird..
it sounds like an impulse but it could be a guilty conscience too..just remember what happens when you buy something less than steller so you can get something cooler

Everyone’s a little like this, you’re maybe just more so. For example, when I buy something I really want, I’ll forfeit something I may really need if I want this particular thing, but after a few hours of having it, I’ll realize that I don’t really need/want it and I’ll regret wasting so much money on it, etc.

first off hot topic, not the place to shop hun.
you have a shoppin disorder.. haha jk but your worrying about money.. to much.
you should return them for sure. you like it the most when you first get it, thats when you love it, but eventually you’ll get sick of it.. nmabe your sick of your style, maybe you could try to change it up a little.. and shop with your own money ! then you wont feel guilty.
i really hope this helps !

I feel the same way sometimes…Only, I don’t feel that way towards clothes shopping, only other things. If your mom didn’t hesitate to buy it, and you like the shirts, then keep them. There is no shame in getting 2 new shirts if you haven’t went shopping for a while, and you made sure you got the cheapest ones. I’m 16 and I only have shopping sprees a couple times a year (around 5 I guess, versus those who go every week), which is when I load up on buying stuff lol because I know I don’t have them often.

that’s so nice of you, think clearly now, ask your mom if she’s okay if you keep the clothes
