Question: My friends make jokes that Im driving a new beetle and not a “civic” or “integra” so whats the big deal?
I like my new beetle but my friends have jokes saying its “girly” but I think its just as sporty and fun to drive than i civic or any other sports car. so whats the big deal?

I personally don’t like the Beetle. I don’t like civics either but I do LOVE the Integra!!! But hey… if you like the Beetle then that’s all that matters. Maybe your friends are hating on you. You never know.
When they need a ride, you’ll be the one laughing when you say you’re busy and they should take a bus.
I had the same problem because I had a 1985 VW Cabriolet. They thought it was a teenage girl looking car.
But, on nice days it was always my Cabrio that everyone wanted to ride in with the top down! lol
I added a german spec. engine and transmission to mine, and it would run 135+mph on the top end.
I guess a lot has to do with how a model is marketed. A VW Beetl is mainly marketed towards 20-25yr old females. You just don’t see very many “manly-guys” driving them around.
Forget them, they don’t matter. All that matters is you liking the car.

If you’re happy with your new car, what do you care what your friends say?
If you always want to listen to public opinion, you wont move forward in life. Get what you want, drive what you have and leave the public views on your choice,they might just envy your great choice of owning a beetle.Drive it, enjoy it! “Aus liebe zum automobile”.
i have a 71 super beetle with a whole 64 horse power. i sell new fords for a living. i love the new mustang, all 300 hp of it. but i like my bug better than anything new. also, i am 36 years old, and my friends give me much grief over my car. bottom line, drive what you like, and until your friends make your payments, then they don’t make up your mind as to what you should drive.
I hate civics. Integra’s just a more expensive civic. VW are so much better! Who will be laughing when they need a tow!
