about as important as having a home of one’s own, car, and enough money left over for food and entertainment.
B/c school grades lead to SAT score, SAT score leads to college, college leads to a job, and job leads to income.
Yeah the stuff they teach is boring and tedious. But so are most jobs. School is just preparing you for it.
Yeah there are artists and athletes. Count them, then divide by 100 million working-age Americans without college education.

If you get good grades in high school, you will not have to worry about paying as much for college or getting into college, if you get good grades in college you will not have to worry about paying off your loans,house payments, living expenses, getting a good job.
So yes, grades are important to having a stable, enjoyable life.

right , if you don’t have enough options coverd you have less choices.so yea,grades keep your feet out of the water and your @55 out of the snow

I got awful grades and am doing just fine. Then again my career has really nothing at all to do with an education…

Good grades in high school are helpful for getting into a college of your choice, but other than that the only good thing from high school is getting a diploma.
Having good grades in college will give you more options to higher social status’ such as being accepted into grad school, med school, dental school, professional schools, etc. Shoot for a 3.0 GPA and many doors will open, but just do what makes you happy and don’t let anything hold you back

Just remember this, high school is a place you don’t have to pay for. College is a place you have to pay for. Therefore, high school is way more important in order to succeed in life.
I think that grades are important to a happy life because then you could go to college/university then get a good job and have a lot of money. And you can make yourself happy with money…in more ways than one… ; )
Unfortunately it is getting harder and harder to get a good job.
Look at it from the employers point of view:
You have hundreds of job applications and you have to decide which ones you are actually going to interview. Your best bet is to look at good grades.
So, good grades will give you the proverbial “foot in the door”.
The rest is up to you.

Good grades are essential for an easier life…..BUT…
Many have this impression if they have good grades they will find good paying jobs.
Not true. Take a close look around at the current market. The job market is FLOODED with qualified and experienced people. Good grades by themselves is not enough.
You must make intelligent life decisions to put yourself closer to opportunities than can lead you to achieve your goals. And be bold enough to take chances, and know when that timing is right.
So many factors affect overall happiness, but you are wise to consider education also.
