Question: What do you say to yourself every morning when you wake up that makes you happy?
I would like some tips, because I’m a pretty depressed person. I know I should be happy, because many tell me I live a very blessed life. That makes me feel even more guilty, because there are so many out there less fortunate than I, and here I am, unable to feel happy. I would just like to change, and try thinking like a optimistic person. Any tips?

Every morning when I wake I always find at least 5 things to be grateful for in my life – no matter what my circumstances are at that point in time, i can always find things to be grateful for.
Once you start doing that, over time, you will learn how to empower yrself to do things to make you happy, motivated and purposeful

today is going to be a good day! why? because i’m going to make it a good day because i’m the one who decides. i have a nice bed to sleep in, a nice house and i’m not homeless like other people.
something like that i guess?

every morning I always say to myself…’ oh yes, I’m going to see my crush again (Aaron) he is in my class! and that’s one of the good reason why I’m always happy when I woke up. And… when my hair looks pretty it makes me feel great.lol….
Cheers! =)

I remember my top 3 goals. Sometimes I state ” I FEEL TERRIFIC” with forced but powerful emphasis, 10 seconds of saying that and you’ll really start to feel and believe it, guaranteed. You really can hypnotize yourself into having a perfect world. Now take the iniative with everyone you meet and lead the mood of the conversation yourself regardless of how anyone else chooses to feel about it. Older younger, Authoritative or Subordinate it makes no difference, Choose to live life positively and happily and within your means, intentions, and desires. Guaranteed you’ll live a life you’ll be satisfied with in such a scenario. You’ll wake up everyday in Utopia as you do this. You’ll be amazed, people will wonder what you do differently than them, and you’ll want to share it with them.

I normally say to myself, ‘never mind theres always someone worse than yourself’
Dont spose that helps much!
just be grateful and help other people out that are not as lucky as you
i figure out that i should be happy to be alive right now, i try getting pumped, i think how im gonna be better, like workout, forget everybody todays my day be happy
every morning i say to myself “thank god im still alive and i hope that i see my baby (b/f) today” thats wat really keeps me going!!
I am (usually) a pretty happy person in the morning. But it is not what I do when I get up, but what I do all the time.
I get to do every day, or almost every day, something I love.
You say you are a “depressed” person – are you unhappy, or just gloomy. Sometimes we think we are a way because people tell us we are — depressed because others say we are depressed, or smart because others tell us we are smart.
You cannot change yourself to be an optomist. It isn’t your nature, and if you were to have an optomistic outlook, you would just be faking it.
So take your strengths — the things that you do best and love — and look at them in a different light. Just because what you do and love isn’t what others do and love doesn’t make them bad. Having a pessimistic outlook isn’t bad, it just is. Accept that this is who you are. Find the other things you are good at and remember that these are your strengths no matter what other people think about them. Try to find one more thing to do tomorrow that will make you happy and do it.
Have a framed poster inside your bathroom reminding you what you should be grateful for in your life. Have another one of self affirmation of how important you are to the people around you.
Look around you, a comfortable life, surrounded by your loved ones. And think how your contributions to the society or community you are in makes it a better place to live in.
I calculate the number of hours before i can get back into bed and that helps me but it’s still a depressive thing to do. You should just change your diet eat alot of green food and take vitamin B6 and you will feel better. remember iron and vitamin b and get out in the sun vitamin D. i sleep in the sun:)
I wake up looking forward to what I can accomplish in goals towards my happiness, that’s enough to get excited. I use what I have, and think creatively, to expand. If I lack some knowledge in a particular area for that goal, I seek answers by friends, family, and my community to succeed. I remain focused on the end result that I want to achieve, and keep at it, until complete. I make new goals each day to enhance my abilities and enjoy adventure into new experiences. I choose to be positive, and surround myself with positive people and my surroundings also positive. If you want the change, change your thinking…hope that helps, wishing you a brighter tomorrow!
Your brain doesn’t like false expectations. you will get hurt if you make your brain believe lies.
