Q&A: What should you do when you make a joke and nobody laughs?

Every time I make a joke I expect a few laughs and recently I told this girl a joke and it was very awkward when she didn’t laugh. I thought it was pretty funny and my friend did too. If that ever happens again, how do I avoid the awkwardness?

When you say the pitch line and nobody laughs,
just say, “This is the part where you laugh…”
Usuallly that’ll get at least a chuckle.
And it won’t be so awkward.
