Q&A: Why is “Military Intelligence” considered an oxymoron?
Like is it just some kind of joke implying that Military personnel are unintelligent, or what?

Oxymoron – Figure of speech with pointed conjunction of seeming contradictories.
Yes, ‘Military’ implies war, force, is the answer to everything. ‘Intelligence’ tells us that war force etc is not the answer to anything.

As a retired American History teacher and Army veteran (Korea), my take on the expression was that it was not military personnel that were unintelligent, but that often they were given orders or missions that did not seem to make a lot of sense, especially to those in the lower ranks who had to follow those orders no matter what.

Definitely imagine that which you stated. Your favourite justification appeared to be on the net the simplest factor to be mindful of.
